We know that educators need to
evaluate texts and products before they can commit to using them in the
classroom. And we know that many educators at the college level expect desk
copies of texts they've adopted. As a small publishing company, we,
unfortunately, cannot supply all the evaluation copies that are requested
free of charge.
You're welcome to try to twist our arms by emailing us and requesting a
free evaluation copy at
evals@untechnicalpress.com. Please state your school's name and
location, and supply as much information as you can about how many classes
and how many students you have in the classes.
For those who don't qualify for free evaluation copies--and to be honest,
most don't--we have a compromise:
We will provide you with an evaluation copy of either or both of the
books—at a refundable half price. (Don’t be frightened—our textbooks
are priced far lower than most to begin with.)
Upon receiving a direct order for 10 or more books from your school’s
bookstore, or a copy of a purchase order or invoice showing that you’ve
ordered through a wholesaler, we will issue a refund check or credit your
credit card—your choice.
We know this is a hassle, but it’s the best we can do at this time.
Hopefully, when we print the next edition, we’ll be in a position to give
away more copies. Of course, you can call or email and try to twist our
arms, and convince us ….
For your refundable half-price evaluation copies, please fill in

credit card information (Visa, MC or AmEx) to 925 825-4601, or mail

and we’ll rush the book(s) out to you.
