Synopsis: A three-evening class to introduce technical writing to writers who
are considering it as a career.
First Evening: A survey of the wide variety of documents that
technical writers write, plus an introduction to the tools and processes
involved. First writing assignment.
Second Evening: Assignment discussion, in-class editing, Q&A. Rewriting
assignment.
Third Evening: Assignment discussion, in-class editing, Q&A. Where to go from
here.
What Is It and Why?
Technical writing is a growing field. As technology has left the laboratory
and entered our homes and offices, the need for people who can clearly explain
technical subjects to everyday people is growing.
Technical writers earn good money, and there are opportunities for salaried
positions and contract work. Is it for you?
